On September 1, 2015, the US FDA approved Tesaro's new drug, Rolapitan tablets, under the trade name Varubi. The drug can be used in combination with other anti-emetic drugs to prevent recurrent nausea and vomiting caused by cancer chemotherapy. Lorapitin is a neurokinin (NK-1) receptor antagonist, and activation of the NK-1 receptor plays an important role in chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. The drug can be used for 7 days or longer. Inhibition of the action of the drug-metabolizing enzyme CYP2D6 enzyme. Therefore, lolatidine cannot be combined with drugs metabolized by the CYP2D6 enzyme to avoid serious adverse reactions.
