Naltrexone hydrochloride is a potent inhibitor of exogenous opioids. The naltrexone hydrochloride was developed by DuPont in the United States for the gradient detoxification program, which reduced the relapse rate after successful detoxification of opioid dependent patients. Naltrexone hydrochloride is a new morphine antagonist for the treatment of opioid dependence, has obvious de-addictive effects, and plays an important role in the prevention of relapse after opioid dependence.
